Here is a brief history of the how the Dirty Duo came to be what it is today. For past results, check out our results page.
2005 to current year
Heather Macdonald of Mountain Madness took over the race in 2005 and added her own special flavour to it including lasagna and strawberry spinach salad at the finish line. She added a fundraising component for Save Your Skin Foundation (there’s no such thing as a safe tan) and a 15 km route. The routes have changed slightly due to the Filtration Plant but the signature trails have been maintained: Sea to Sky, Bridal Path, Old Buck, Mushroom, Ned’s Atomic Dust Bin, Bottle Top and Circuit 8. A trail maintenance day has been added and it happens a week or so after the race. Dirty Duo was added to the Run the North Shore series.
